MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office arrested a 48-year-old woman Thursday after they said she attempted to set fuel nozzles on fire at an Exxon gas station.
Jail records show Natasha Kim Johnson is facing one count each of first-degree attempted arson, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use, cocaine possession, and trespassing on property after warning.
It happened around 11:15 a.m. at the Exxon at 1176 NW 79th St., near the county’s Gladeview area.
Deputies said Johnson, who is listed as homeless in her arrest report, was armed with a knife and menaced customers trying to pump gas.
They said she removed several fuel nozzles in an apparent attempt to set them on fire before fleeing the scene.
Johnson’s arrest report stated that she returned to the gas station while deputies were still interviewing witnesses.
It stated that she was found holding a crack pipe with suspected crack cocaine and that she attempted to light it in deputies’ presence. Investigators confirmed that she was arrested without incident, and the paraphernalia was impounded.
Authorities noted that Johnson had previously been warned not to return to the property.
As of Friday, she was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where her bond was listed as “to be set.”
