MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A major bust was announced on Tuesday by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the bust and resulting arrests were due to a strong collaboration by MDSO’s Northside District Gangs Unit, auto theft detectives, and the Special Response Team.
According to deputies, a search warrant being executed at a home uncovered a suspected chop shop operation, with multiple stolen cars – including motorcycles and mopeds – found with altered or defaced VIN numbers.
A second warrant turned up even more stolen cars and equipment, deputies said.
Several people are now facing charges, and police say all were taken into custody without incident.
