BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office asked for the public’s help Thursday in identifying a person of interest in the fatal shooting of 35-year-old Nathaniel Forrest.
The shooting happened just before 9:45 p.m. on Jan. 19, near the 900 block of Northwest 24th Avenue in unincorporated central Broward.
Deputies responded after receiving a ShotSpotter alert in the area. Authorities said they found Forrest suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and immediately began life-saving efforts.
They said he was taken by Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue medics to Broward Health Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
BSO’s Homicide Unit has released a photo of an individual wanted for questioning in connection with the case. Investigators are urging anyone who recognizes the person or knows their whereabouts to come forward.
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered through Broward Crime Stoppers for information that leads to an arrest.
