Police took the suspects, identified as Adam Spariosu, 23, of Hollywood, and Debbie Gonzalez, 37, of Opa-locka, into custody on Wednesday.

Authorities said the crime happened at around 1:20 a.m. at a laundromat at 141 Opa-locka Blvd., next to the Chavez Distributors supermarket.

According to an arrest report, Gonzalez and Spariosu first approached the victim in a black Mini Cooper and struck up a conversation with him. Investigators said surveillance video showed Gonzalez acting as “the distractor” as Spariosu “circled” the victim.

However, police said the two didn’t attack the man at that point. He handed Gonzalez money and the two left.

Police said Gonzalez later returned in her red Cadillac and “lure(d) the victim to the rear of her vehicle and open(ed) the trunk, creating a sitting area.”

According to the report, Gonzalez walked to the front of her car and signaled for Spariosu, who was hiding behind a wall and had changed into a black hooded sweatshirt equipped with what was described as a “Shiesty mask.”

Police said Spariosu hit the victim multiple times in the head and torso as Gonzalez held him down. Spariosu reached into the man’s pants during the attack, according to the report.

Authorities said as the man stood up amid the “onslaught,” Spariosu knocked him over his bicycle onto the ground and the victim suffered a visible cut to his lip.

According to the report, the two eventually made off with the cash, along with the man’s identification and immigration documents.

Police said they arrested the pair on Wednesday after surveilling Gonzalez’s home on Atlantic Avenue.

In addition to the aforementioned strong-armed robbery charge, Gonzalez faces a charge of aggravated battery.

As of Thursday, Spariosu was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $7,500 bond, while Gonzalez was being held at TGK on a $12,500 bond.
