PINECREST, Fla. — It was a frightening morning in Pinecrest for several residents as it appears their homes and vehicles were targeted.
Two separate incidents are being investigated by Pinecrest police, both taking place early Thursday morning.
The first happened along the 13000 block of Old Cutler Road at approximately 4:46 a.m.
In that incident, home surveillance footage shows a car pulling up and several people getting out.
After attempting to access a locked Cadillac Escalade, police said the suspects approached the front door of the home.
The suspects triggered an alarm after opening the unlocked front door and then took off, authorities said.
The second incident occurred along the 6000 block of Southwest 120th Street at approximately 7:18 a.m.
A homeowner saw the criminals outside her home and when they saw her, they fled, police said.
According to authorities, the suspects in the first incident are not the same people observed in the second incident.
Officers are urging residents to be vigilant and always be alert to their surroundings, and make sure their cars and homes are locked.
Anyone with information on either case is urged to call Pinecrest police or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
