MIAMI — Surveillance video captured screams moments after a woman was shot inside her Miami salon.
The footage shows a man and a woman appearing to argue. Seconds later, the man pulls a gun from his pocket, points it at her head, then lowers it and fires.
The woman, later identified as Nayrelia Ramos, is seen bleeding from her leg and stumbling back to her suite. The gunman runs off. The sound of gunfire sent neighboring business owners and clients looking for cover.
“It happened super quick. I was just trying to get him out,” Ramos said.
Ramos owns Nana the Stylist, a beauty salon inside the My Suite Beauty Square near Northwest Seventh Street and 37th Avenue.
Miami police said the man who shot her is her ex-boyfriend, 23-year-old Job Jocelyn.
“He was just like very on me and like stalking me kind of and then he found out I had a new boyfriend,” Ramos said.
She said the new relationship angered Jocelyn, who began repeatedly calling and texting her. When he showed up at her business, she feared what might happen next.
“I got scared when I saw him,” she said. “I was just trying to get him out. As soon as I saw him I just kept telling him to get out, get out, get out.”
Ramos said she grabbed her phone and dialed 911, even showing him the screen in hopes he would leave.
“I grabbed my phone and dialed 911 and I showed him because he wouldn’t leave and that when he pulled out the gun and shot me,” she said.
Ramos is recovering from her injury. She said she hopes the man accused of nearly killing her stays behind bars.
Jocelyn faces multiple charges, including attempted murder. He remains jailed without bond.
