ISLAMORADA, Fla. — A 22-year-old Islamorada man was arrested Friday after deputies said he struck a family member with a broom and then threatening her with a knife.
Jail records show Jacob Edward Stogner is facing one count each of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery.
According to Adam Linhardt, a spokesperson with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a “family disturbance” at a Flamingo Hammock Road home around 7:30 p.m.
Linhardt said the victim told deputies Stogner struck her multiple times with a broom, leaving “bruises consistent with her account.”
He also said the victim claimed that Stogner grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened her during the incident.
Stogner was then was taken into custody. His is arraignment is set for March 3.
