MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — It’s been more than a year since Miami-Dade County voters elected its first sheriff in six decades.
The department is still in the process of transitioning from the Miami-Dade Police Department to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
Additionally, Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz is still setting into her new job as well.
Local 10’s Calvin Hughes recently had a chance to sit down with the county’s most powerful law enforcement officer.
In the discussion, they looked back at her first year in office, one that has had its peaks and its valleys.
