MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A man from Sebring, Florida, was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center Monday, months after participating in multiple street takeovers in Miami-Dade County and intentionally striking a deputy’s vehicle, authorities announced.
According to MDSO deputies, Lucio Marin Anselmo Jr., 25, initially participated in an illegal “intersection takeover” at about 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 26, 2025, in which about 40 vehicles were seen blocking all lanes of travel at the intersection of Northwest 36th Street and 27th Avenue in the city of Miami.
“A yellow Chevrolet Camaro was observed entering the intersection against the flow of traffic,” MDSO officials said in a news release. “The Camaro revved its engine and then drifted in a circular motion while spectators formed a circle in the intersection. City of Miami Police Department marked units arrived in the area and disbursed the crowd.”
Deputies said the same Camaro was seen later that morning “operating in the same reckless manner” in the area of Northwest 127th Street and 17th Avenue.
A couple days later on Dec. 28, the Camaro was spotted at about 2:20 a.m. in the area of Northwest 135th Street and 42nd Avenue.
Deputies said multiple marked MDSO units tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver intentionally struck one MDSO vehicle with his car, causing damage to the front driver-side quarter panel.
He then fled the scene, running red lights and driving in a reckless manner, authorities said.
According to an arrest report, detectives were eventually able to identify the driver as Anselmo and he and his yellow Camaro were found in Highland’s County.
Anselmo was arrested with help from the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office.
He faces two counts of drag racing.
