Pembroke Park mayor’s legislative aide misses deadline, NOW suspended without pay

Ashley Sikora

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — Sources tell Local 10 News the legislative aide to Pembroke Park Mayor Geoffrey Jacobs has now been suspended without pay after missing a deadline to respond to questions in an internal investigation.

A source familiar with the investigation tells Local 10 that Ashley Sikora failed to respond to written questions as part of the town’s review of her job performance. She was given a Friday, Feb. 27 deadline to reply. According to the source, that deadline passed without a response.

Sikora had already been placed on administrative leave with pay on Feb. 12, less than 24 hours after Local 10 began asking questions about her role with the town. The Town of Pembroke Park confirmed at the time that an internal investigation had been launched into concerns raised by this newsroom.

Sikora serves as the part-time, remote legislative assistant to Jacobs and is paid $26.25 per hour. Public records indicate she resides in Georgiana, Alabama, roughly 600 miles from Pembroke Park.

Multiple sources inside Town Hall previously told Local 10 they were unclear about her specific duties or work product. A review of her town-issued email account since Jan. 1, 2026, found mostly automated system notifications, password reset confirmations and webinar invitations. The records did not contain authored legislative memos, drafted ordinances or policy research documents.

Personnel records show Sikora was hired in July 2025, with Jacobs serving as one of her personal references. In her 90-day evaluation, Jacobs gave her a perfect 5.0 score, calling her “exceptional.” In her own written comments, Sikora described Jacobs as “approachable and charismatic,” and referred to him as “the best leader that I have worked with.”

The town has not announced any findings of wrongdoing. The investigation into Sikora’s employment remains ongoing.

Jacobs has not commented on Sikora’s suspension.
