MIRAMAR, Fla. — One person was injured Monday afternoon in a shooting in Miramar, authorities confirmed.

According to Miramar police spokeswoman Janice McIntosh, the shooting was reported at about 12:45 p.m. in the 7500 block of Pembroke Road.

McIntosh said an argument escalated into a physical altercation, at which time shots were fired.

She said one person was injured in the shooting and he or she was transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

No other details were immediately released.

This is the second shooting in the area in recent months.

On Jan. 6, Christian Corea was fatally shot while pumping gas at the Sunoco gas station.

Police did not immediately confirm whether Monday’s shooting also occurred at the gas station or occurred near it.
