SURFSIDE, Fla. — There is an increased visibility in law enforcement around several Jewish places of worship in South Florida.
This is coming following the growing conflict between the U.S., Israel and Iran.
In Surfside, outside the Shul of Bal Harbor, there were Bal Harbor, Surfside and Miami-Dade law enforcement all represented.
“With everything going on with Iran and Israel and America, we have extra police on patrol,” said Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner.
Monday night, thousands of Jews throughout South Florida will be attending synagogues to celebrate the holiday of Purim.
As soon as the conflict with Iran started over the weekend, we saw one social media post after the other informing the community that while there is no direct threat, security will be heightened.
Bal harbor, Sunny Isles, Miami Beach and Miami-Dade County all put out statements, just to name a few.
