HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. — Cirque du Soleil’s “Luzia” is under the big top at Gulfstream Park for a limited run, blending light, rain and acrobatics in a vivid tribute to Mexico.
From golden-age cinema halls to deserts, beaches, jungles and festive streets, the show captures the sights, sounds and colors of the country.
Gracie Valdez, artistic director, said director Daniel spent more than a decade traveling in Mexico, drawing inspiration for the production.
The show features elaborate sets, intricate lighting and costumes that are carefully maintained over years of performances.
Performers train constantly to master new skills that keep the show fresh.
“Luzia” stays at Gulfstream Park for a limited engagement before continuing its tour.
