MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A man from Brevard County is facing seven felony charges in South Florida after authorities said he used a victim’s stolen credit cards at the Miccosukee Casino & Resort.

Tribal police investigators said Kareem Alison Carswell, 22, of Palm Bay, used the victim’s cards at the west Miami-Dade casino last July. Investigators said he made three successful withdrawals at a little more than $2,000 apiece.

Authorities said the victim had reported four cards stolen to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a separate arrest report, Carswell was arrested on Tuesday after he and three other men were pulled over in North Miami Beach in a BMW X3 with excessive tints.

Police said the vehicle was full of marijuana bags and paraphernalia; there was also an Oxycodone pill under the floorboard at Carswell’s feet. So too, police said, was a handgun in a “green man purse,” leading to Carswell’s arrest on an armed possession charge. He was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

Tribal police said they received a notification about Carswell’s arrest and went to TGK to formally arrest him on three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card and one count each of organized scheme to defraud, third degree grand theft, fraudulent use of identification and exploitation of an elderly or disabled adult.

As of Wednesday morning, he was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with a bond listed as “to be set” in online jail records.
