MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A Hialeah man is facing two felony charges after authorities accused him of stalking a woman who took care of him at a nursing home after he had knee surgery ― and showing up to her son’s school to stalk him, too.

Pablo Daniel Sanchez, 69, is accused of doing all of this while on probation for cocaine trafficking.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers arrested him on Wednesday after they said he got into an altercation with the victim in traffic, having followed her to a red light near the Golden Glades Interchange.

According to an FHP arrest report, Sanchez and the victim had become friends after she cared for him at the nursing home following his double knee surgery. Troopers said he claimed the two had a sexual relationship; she denied this and said she rejected his advances.

Troopers said Sanchez “continued to text and call (her) at all times of the day” and, after she stopped answering in December, showed up at the nursing home, prompting a report to North Miami police.

Authorities said Sanchez would also go to the victim’s home and her son’s school. The arrest report states that on Tuesday, Sanchez showed up to the boy’s school, handed him his debit card “and told him he could buy whatever he wanted to.”

On Wednesday, Sanchez was out to get his debit card back, authorities said, and followed the woman and her son as they drove home from the school.

According to the report, Sanchez got out of his car while both he and the victim were at a red light at State Road 9 and Connector Road ― near the Golden Glades Tri-Rail station ― at around 5 p.m.

Troopers said Sanchez told them that “while interacting with (the victim), a male approached him and pushed him back, causing pain to his knees.”

He apparently called law enforcement to report a battery, but he would end up being the one arrested ― but not before he was taken to Jackson North Medical Center by ambulance, where, according to the report, he told a medic “that if he could he would place a hit on both of them on his behalf and he is gonna beat them up.”

Records show Sanchez pleaded guilty to cocaine trafficking, money laundering and unlawful use of a communications device in 2022 and was sentenced to 10 years of probation. Additional details about that case, stemming from a 2020 arrest by Hialeah police, weren’t immediately available.

He now faces additional charges of aggravated stalking and aggravated stalking of a minor. He was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Thursday afternoon, with a bond listed as “to be set.”
