MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Miami Dolphins are set to part ways with veteran fullback Alec Ingold and kicker Jason Sanders as part of a roster overhaul under new head coach Jeff Hafley and general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, according to multiple reports.

Ingold, a three-time Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee and 2023 Pro Bowl selection, was the team’s lead blocker for running back De’Von Achane, helping Achane reach his first Pro Bowl in 2025.

The 29-year-old fullback spent the last four seasons in Miami and served as a team captain. He played in 66 career games for Miami and recorded 20 carries for 34 yards and three touchdowns.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Dolphins and Ingold were unable to agree on a new contract. He was set to make $3.55 million this season with a cap hit exceeding $5 million.

Sanders, who leaves Miami with a streak of 27 consecutive made field goals and perfect accuracy on 50+-yard attempts in his last nine tries, is also expected to be released to free up additional cap room.

Riley Patterson replaced Sanders, who went on injured reserve due to a hip injury, and converted 27 of 29 field goals, a career-high 93 percent.

Combined, the moves give the Dolphins roughly $7 million in cap space, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

These departures continue a wave of roster changes in Miami.

The team has already parted ways with wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, edge rusher Bradley Chubb, and offensive lineman James Daniels.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is also expected to be on the move as the Dolphins rebuild under the new regime.
