Pembroke Pines votes in 2 new commissioners, Lauderhill passes 3 referendums

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — Elections were held in Broward County on Tuesday.

In Pembroke Pines, two commission seats were filled.

Thomas “Tom” Good won the seat for District 1, receiving 50.53% of the vote. Dennis Hinds finished second with 43.49% of ballots cast.

The District 4 seat went to Michael “Mike” Hernandez with 75.7% of the vote, defeating Elizabeth “Liz” Burns.

Over in Lauderhill, residents voted on three referendums, all related to the usage of the city’s General Obligation Bonds – one for public safety projects, one for parks improvement projects and one for transportation and roadway projects.

All three overwhelmingly passed, with each ‘for bonds’ referendum receiving between 70-71% of the ballots cast.
