DAVIE, Fla. — An alleged drug dealer locked a man inside of a storage unit in Davie for several months over an unpaid $3,000 debt, police said.

Online jail records show Oscar Moses Badger, 49, was arrested March 3 on a kidnapping charge.

According to an arrest affidavit, police responded to Access Self Storage, located at 7000 SW 22nd Court, on March 1 after someone heard the victim screaming for help from inside the unit, saying he needed medical attention.

Davie Fire Rescue personnel also responded to the scene and cut the silver master lock on the unit door.

Police said the storage unit was in “complete disarray” and had a foul smell coming from five-gallon buckets, which contained the victim’s urine and feces.

According to the affidavit, the victim told police that the suspect, who he knew as “Tray,” had locked him inside the unit since November 2025.

The victim was transported to HCA University Hospital.

According to the affidavit, Badger had previously sold the victim fentanyl and crack cocaine.

The victim told police that he received about $7,000 a month from the Veterans Association and would use the money to purchase drugs from Badger and rent hotel rooms.

He said Badger would give him the drugs and rent the rooms for him and he would pay him back once the benefits reached his account.

According to the affidavit, at one point, the victim owed Badger $3,000 and a “fellow vagrant,” who the victim knew as “Victor Ruiz,” told Badger that the victim was not going to pay him.

The victim said Badger had Ruiz and a woman take the victim to an apartment complex in Lauderhill where Ruiz severely beat him “for no apparent reason.”

According to the affidavit, the victim fled the scene when Ruiz was showering, but due to his addiction, he eventually reached out to Badger again for drugs.

Police said the victim claimed that Badger then kidnapped him, placed him in the storage unit and provided him with drugs.

Badger did not threaten to kill the victim, but did threaten to beat him and forced the victim to call his bank to raise his withdrawal limit and make him go to the bank with him to withdraw money from his accounts, authorities said.

Police said the victim identified Badger to them in a photo lineup.

Badger was arrested two days later.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Badger was being held at the Broward County Main Jail without bond.
