HOMESTEAD, Fla. — A man was arrested Monday after he returned to Miami Dade College’s Homestead Campus after previously bringing a gun onto school property, authorities said.
According to Homestead police Officer Oscar Roque, HPD was notified Monday that the suspect, Christian Fabian Richards, 21, who was wanted on a “weapons violation” that occurred on campus, had returned to the college.

Roque said Richards is not currently a student at MDC, but was spotted on the Homestead Campus Monday by a campus security guard.
“In an abundance of caution, the campus was placed on a lock down as HPD personnel searched the campus for the wanted subject,” Roque said in an email to Local 10 News. “After receiving a phone call from his attorney who advised that he would turn himself in, the suspect was located and arrested without incident.”
Richards faces charges of possession of a firearm on school property and interference/disruption of an educational institution.
As of Tuesday morning, Richards was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with a bond listed as “to be set.”
