LAUDERHILL, Fla. — A man was arrested Tuesday night after firing shots inside a home in Lauderhill and then barricading himself inside, authorities said.
The shooting was reported at about 8:45 p.m. in the 5700 block of Blueberry Court.
According to Lauderhill police, officers arrived at the scene and were told by a family member that Anthony Hardwick was inside the home and had fired four shots through a bathroom door before barricading himself inside the bathroom.

Police said they evacuated the residence and nearby homes as a precaution as officers made verbal contact with Hardwick, 27, in an attempt to have him safely exit the bathroom.
Hardwick, however, refused, authorities said.
Neighbors told Local 10 News that children ran out of the home, crying after the shooting.
According to police, the Broward Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and negotiators responded to the scene and, after an “extended period of time,” helped officers take Hardwick.
While a drone and flash bangs were used to try to get Hardwick to come outside, they weren’t able to apprehend him until about 5 a.m. Wednesday.
“We got cops here almost 24/7,” one neighbor said. “At least once a week, they’re coming here. We gotta get rid of these people.”
Hardwick was arrested on a charge of shooting within an occupied dwelling. A motive for the shooting remains unclear.
No injuries were reported.
As of Wednesday morning, Hardwick was being held at the Broward County Main Jail on a $25,000 bond.
