MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Newly-obtained video shows a Florida Highway Patrol trooper bringing a chase on Interstate 95 to a screeching halt.
Authorities said a trooper spotted Davon Clyde Young, 25, of North Miami, going 109 mph on the Palmetto Expressway before trying to pull him over just before midnight on Jan. 8.
The trooper ended the chase with a PIT maneuver on Interstate 95 near North Miami Beach. Young, they said, threw a loaded gun from his window.
In the video, investigators are heard claiming Young, pictured in his mugshot sporting a large neck tattoo containing the word “SPAZZ,” is a “known gang member.”
They said inside the car were a 17-year-old girl, beer cans and another loaded gun. Nobody was hurt.
Authorities arrested him on charges of fleeing and eluding, child neglect and excessive speeding.
Young’s next court hearing is scheduled for June 11.
