HOMESTEAD, Fla. — A rainy weekend led to flooding in Homestead.
Sky 10 was above flooded farmland in the area Monday morning after nearly 8 inches of rain fell Sunday.
A spokesperson for the South Florida Water Management District confirmed in an email to Local 10 News that the department “made system changes in response to rising canal levels and reports of areas with flooding that received up to 8 inches of rain.”

“The South Florida Water Management District adjusted their operations to facilitate drainage in Miami-Dade County’s Ag area,” the spokesperson said. “However, no temporary pumps have been deployed from the South Florida Water Management District at this time.”
By noon Monday, the flooding appeared to be subsiding.
