Reward offered for information about shooting that left man, 58, dead in West Park

WEST PARK, Fla. — Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that they said left a 58-year-old man dead in West Park early Sunday morning.

Deputies responded shortly after 3 a.m. to a report of a shooting in the 5400 block of Southwest 22nd Street, authorities said.

Upon arrival, Deputies said they found the victim, Timothy Motes, lying outside with a gunshot wound.

They said Motes, who lived in the area, was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives believe the shooting happened around 2 a.m., about an hour before it was reported. The suspect or suspects have not been identified.

BSO homicide and crime scene units are continuing to investigate.
