MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — It’s a spring break party in Miami Beach, where music blasted along Ocean Drive and crowds filled the streets Saturday afternoon.
“It’s good to see everyone mixing around, shuffling together and having a good time,” one tourist said.
Visitors from Kansas City said the trip has lived up to expectations.
“So far it’s been awesome,” the tourist said. “Everybody’s so funny, everybody honks at each other, but hey, it’s pretty nice people.”
In recent years, city leaders have tried to curb the chaos associated with spring break after several violent seasons. In 2024, Miami Beach launched a “break up with spring break” campaign, which included higher parking rates for non-residents and earlier beach closures.
Now, some restrictions have been relaxed -- but crowds remain.
“Not as bad as it could be. It’s crowded, no question,” another visitor said.
A Cutler Bay resident said the scene has only grown busier over time.
“Definitely more crowdd. But Miami’s a place for excitement you know? Who doesn’t like more people?” they said.
