BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — Two people died after a helicopter crashed through the roof of a vacant warehouse on Monday in Boynton Beach, according to fire rescue personnel.

According to Boynton Beach police, the crash happened near the 3800 block of South Congress Avenue.

A spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the Robinson R44 helicopter crashed into the building at about 12:30 p.m.

The spokesperson said the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.

Police and Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Department crews are currently at the scene.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area at this time.

No other details were immediately released.
