LAKELAND, Fla. — A photographer captured a spectacular struggle in the swamp between two of the Sunshine State’s most dangerous animals.

Acclaimed wildlife photographer Jon Burket was taking pictures in the Circle B-Bar Reserve near Lakeland earlier this month when he came across this incredible scene.

A young alligator had snatched a coral snake from the water’s edge, then eating it whole in one bite.

Coral snakes are among North America’s most venomous snakes, but this guy was no match for the hungry gator.

Burket said some have claimed the pictures are AI, but he says it’s very real and very rare to capture on camera.
