WESTON, Fla. — It was standing room only at St. Katherine Drexel Church in Weston on Easter Sunday.
The church’s pastor, Father Omar Ayubi, said he’s hoping that what he had to say really sticks with people when they leave.
“We have gotten too hard, everybody is always grouchy, everyone is nasty with each other,” he said.
The sacred service was not lost on Emilo Cucciniello, who admitted his worship had drifted, and he strayed from the church.
“I didn’t go to church for a few years, (but I’m) finally coming back,” he said. “It’s very important to just be present in the moment, care about your community, care about your elders, respect your elders, something we have kind of lost.”
Easter is one of the more popular religious holidays within the Catholic religion.
Ayubi said he planned to deliver three masses on Sunday.
