Court documents state that Javarous Lashay McNealy, 34, was arrested on federal charges related to the possession and transportation of child sexual abuse material after he disembarked a cruise PortMiami on Monday.

Records show McNealy previously pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor battery in a 2018 Charlotte County case in which he was originally arrested for sexual battery. In that case, covered by Fort Myers news outlets, investigators said he orally sexually assaulted a male client while working at a Massage Envy in Port Charlotte, leading the state to pull his massage therapist license in May 2021.

Nearly five years later, federal agents said they conducted a border search on McNealy’s cellphone after he got off the Carnival Conquest on Monday.

Authorities said they opened the Telegram application and found “at least 50″ illicit videos, including those that show “prepubescent” boys and girls being raped and abused by adults.

Investigators said “multiple Telegram conversations” showed that he was sending the videos to other users.

According to court documents, McNealy said his sharing of the illicit videos began with meeting like-minded users on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

They said McNealy also admitted that he “would buy, trade and download” child sexual abuse material.

Records show McNealy appeared in Miami federal court on Tuesday and was ordered held pending a pre-trial detention hearing scheduled for Friday.

As of Wednesday, records show that McNealy was being held in the Federal Detention Center in downtown Miami.
