Homestead police are seeking the public’s help in locating a 14-year-old girl who was reported missing over a month ago.

HOMESTEAD, Fla. — Homestead police are seeking the public’s help in locating a 14-year-old girl who was reported missing over a month ago.

According to police, Yarilis Mendez-Carrillo was reported missing March 11 by her grandmother and was last seen in the 300 block of Southwest 12th Avenue.

Police said Mendez-Carrillo does not have a cellphone and has not been in contact with anyone since she was reported missing.

Mendez-Carrillo is described by police as a Hispanic female, who is 4 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.

Police said she has a large circular scar on her upper right thigh.

Mendez-Carrillo was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue shorts.

A Missing Child Alert has been issued by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement as the search for the teen continues.
