Jackson Memorial Hospital treats 2 ‘severe’ burn victims after Fort Lauderdale crash

MIAMI — Jackson Memorial Hospital was treating a man and a woman on Monday who suffered severe burns after a crashed car caught on fire on Sunday evening in Fort Lauderdale.

According to Sgt. Patrick O’Brien, a spokesman for the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, a driver crashed into a tree at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday in the area of Southeast 15th Avenue and East Broward Boulevard.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue personnel took the man and the woman injured to Broward General Hospital. Their condition was critical, according to O’Brien.

The JMH’s Miami Burn Center is at Ryder Trauma Center.
