FLORIDA CITY, Fla. — The Florida Forest Service’s Everglades field unit continued fighting a wildfire on Tuesday in deep southern Miami-Dade County.
The fire near Florida City was 50% contained after burning about 300 acres, according to the Florida Forest Service.
Miami-Dade firefighters were also assisting and warned people with respiratory conditions to keep their windows and doors closed and set their air conditioning systems to recirculate.
The fire “danger” was moderate and the “potential” high on Tuesday in Miami-Dade, according to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ fire danger index report.
