BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced on Wednesday that a 45-year-old Broward County man had been convicted of crimes related to cocaine trafficking.
That man, Teddy McCall, Jr., was convicted of racketeering, conspiracy to racketeer, conspiracy to traffic cocaine, trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to sell or deliver and two counts of ownership, lease, or rental of a space for trafficking.
The conviction came after a three-week jury trial.
Officials said the charges against McCall were related to the operation of a cocaine trafficking organization that used family members to distribute drugs throughout South Florida.
“This convicted criminal made drug trafficking into a family business,” Uthmeier said in a statement released by his office. “Thanks to the relentless work of our prosecutors and law enforcement partners, he will face a well-deserved mandatory minimum prison sentence.”
McCall will be back in court on June 29 for a sentencing hearing.
He faces a minimum of 13 years behind bars within the Florida Department of Corrections.
