HOMESTEAD, Fla. — A small plane flipped after making a hard landing at the Pilot Training Center in Homestead on Saturday morning, authorities confirmed.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said crews responded to the scene at 28790 SW 217th Ave., where they found the aircraft overturned.
Greg Chin, the communications director for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department, told Local 10 News that a student pilot was the sole occupant of the aircraft and was not injured.
Chin said the plane flipped over after landing when the brakes were applied.
The incident comes one day after a separate small plane crash occurred on the campus of a psychiatric hospital near North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines.
Authorities said that plane was carrying two women who were pulled from the wreckage and transported to a nearby hospital as trauma alerts. No additional details on their identities or conditions have been released.
No other details about Saturday’s incident were immediately available.
