MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol troopers said they took a 24-year-old man into custody on Monday afternoon after he chased his ex-girlfriend in traffic in Miami-Dade County.
Troopers said they received a call from the woman who said she “feared for her life” after Reshawd Pond Jr. “threatened to kill her.”
Lt. Alex Camacho, an FHP spokesperson, said the victim drove to the agency’s Snapper Creek Turnpike station and Pond, of Opa-locka, fled after seeing state troopers.
Camacho said Pond got off at Southwest Eighth Street and crashed near 127th Avenue. He said troopers took two occupants into custody and the suspect ran. Camacho said Pond was taken into custody a short time later and troopers seized an AR-15 from his vehicle.
