Miami police identified the suspect in an arrest report as Marjorie Normil, of North Miami Beach.

Police said the incident happened around 4 p.m. near Northeast Miami Court and 78th Street.

According to the arrest report, a public service aide was flagged down by a witness who reported a woman had been stabbed.

Police said the victim was found bleeding from her face and neck area and told officers she had been stabbed.

They said Miami Fire Rescue medics then transported the victim to North Shore Medical Center for treatment.

The report states officers later located Normil near Northeast First Court and 78th Street, matching the description provided by witnesses.

Police said a witness told detectives he “overheard a commotion” outside his home and saw the victim and Normil arguing over money the victim was owed. The witness said he separated the two women and went back inside.

When he returned outside, the witness said he saw the victim “bleeding heavily from her face and neck area” and saw Normil flee southbound on Northeast 78th Street, according to the report.

Another witness told detectives he saw the two women talking before hearing an argument. He said the victim looked toward him and stated, “Candy cut me,” the report states.

That witness later identified Normil to police, according to investigators.

Detectives said they also interviewed the victim at the hospital.

According to the report, the victim told investigators she had been arguing with Normil about a stolen vehicle she did not want to be involved with.

The victim told police Normil stabbed her “approximately four to five times in the face and neck area,” The report states. Police said she later identified Normil as the person who stabbed her.

The report states Normil was read her Miranda rights and agreed to speak with detectives. Her statement was redacted from the publicly released report.

Jail records show she is facing one count of attempted second-degree murder with a deadly weapon.

As of Thursday afternoon, she was being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
