MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A brush fire burning near U.S. 41 in the Everglades forced the closure of the highway in both directions and prompted the precautionary evacuation of Everglades Safari Park on Sunday, authorities said.

Officials have not released information about the size of the fire, its cause or whether any structures are damaged.
