MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Miami Beach announced on Thursday that there are four drop-off locations accepting aid for the victims of the 7.4-magnitude earthquake in western Colombia.

The Colombian Geological Survey reported a 4.2-magnitude aftershock struck on Thursday in San José del Palmar, in the Chocó region. The death toll of Monday’s earthquake was at least 265 people.

Miami Beach Fire Rescue personnel will be collecting donations from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Friday to Aug. 31, at four stations: 1051 Jefferson Ave., 2300 Pine Tree Drive, 5303 Collins Ave., and 6880 Indian Creek Drive.

The city welcomes donations of new camping gear, hygiene supplies, first-aid kits, tarps, and canned food.

City employees plan to deliver the donations to Miami-Dade County-based nonprofit Global Empowerment Mission’s warehouse in Doral.
