1 hospitalized, several others checked out at scene following Lauderhill crash involving bicyclist, multiple vehicles

LAUDERHILL, Fla. — Lauderhill police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash involving a bicyclist that occurred Tuesday morning, sending one person to the hospital and impacting traffic along West Sunrise Boulevard.

According to police, officers and Lauderhill Fire Rescue personnel responded to the area of West Sunrise Boulevard near Northwest 31st Avenue following reports of the crash.

Police said multiple vehicles and a bicyclist were involved. One of the vehicles left the roadway and came to rest in bushes, authorities said.

Fire Rescue crews had to extricate one person following the crash, police said.

Four people were evaluated or treated at the scene, and at least one person was transported to a hospital for further medical treatment, authorities said.

Police did not provide details about the severity of the injuries.

The crash impacted the westbound lanes of Sunrise Boulevard as emergency crews worked at the scene. Additional traffic restrictions were also reported in the surrounding area.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. Drivers traveling through the area are being advised to use caution and expect delays.
