MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A 22-year-old man was at the Metrowest Detention Center on Monday afternoon, accused of attempted murder in Miami-Dade County, according to inmate records.
Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Kymari R. Dalrymple after a traffic stop on Aug. 27 near Northwest 22nd Avenue and 41st Street, according to a deputy’s arrest report.
Dalrymple, who lives in the Brownsville neighborhood, “gave a full confession to shooting at the victim’s vehicle,” a deputy wrote, according to the arrest report.
Dalrymple was in a Nissan Altima when the passenger of a gray Infiniti was shot in the left leg on July 3 in Brownsville, near Miami’s Model City, according to a deputy’s report.
The driver of the Infiniti, whom deputies did not identify, took the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, according to a deputy’s arrest report.
Before the shooting, Dalrymple was traveling westbound on Northwest 41 Street, and the driver of the Infiniti was behind him, according to the arrest report.
Once both drivers passed the intersection of Northwest 22nd Avenue, the Altima “came to a complete stop,” and the driver of the Infiniti “went around” when the victim was shot, according to the deputy’s arrest report.
A detective used a toll license plate reader on July 9 to identify the Nissan Altima, and identified Dalrymple after “days of several different surveillance techniques,” according to the report.
Miami-Dade corrections booked Dalrymple shortly after 11:45 p.m. on Aug. 27 at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, according to inmate records.
Miami-Dade prosecutors filed the case against Dalrymple on Aug. 29 on a charge of second-degree attempted murder with a deadly weapon, according to court records.
Dalrymple appeared in bond court on Aug. 29 and was denied bond, according to court records. Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Laura A. Stuzin was set to preside over the case.
