MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Surveillance video captured the moments a woman fell from a moving car, slamming down onto the pavement face first.

The woman, who has since been identified as 37-year-old Nikkita Wongchong, was knocked unconscious, but the driver is seen in the video speeding off, leaving the woman in the middle of a McDonald’s parking lot with serious injuries.

Passing drivers could be seen getting out of their cars to check on her.

This all happened Saturday around 8:40 a.m. outside the McDonald’s located at 26601 S. Dixie Highway, in southwest Miami-Dade’s unincorporated Naranja area.

Nile Sausbre said she was working across the street and watched as Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the area.

“That’s not right,” she said. “That’s a human being.”

Deputies said they performed CPR until paramedics arrived and rushed the victim to the hospital in critical condition.

Doctors later determined she was brain dead.

The driver has been identified as Ismel Baro Rodriguez, 28,

Investigators said they reviewed surveillance video that helped them track down Baro Rodriguez at a home not far from the scene.

He has since been charged with a felony count of aggravated battery with great bodily harm and the Cuban national is now behind bars at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on an immigration hold.
