The Humane Society of Broward County released the surveillance video showing the thief taking the puppy from the shelter’s kennel on Sept. 12, at 2070 Griffin Road.

The puppy named Pebbles was microchipped and is “vulnerable and fragile” without treatment for parasites and ringworm, according to the Humane Society.

The thief was riding a bicycle and carrying the puppy in a backpack, according to witnesses. Animal advocates asked anyone with information about the puppy to call 954-989-3977.
