FORT LAUDERDALE, FLa. — Macy, a 5-year-old French bulldog, is one the dogs at Humane Society of Broward County looking for a new family this holiday season.
“She’s got one eye, she’s a little thin, and she’s got a little attitude,” said HSBC’s Cherie Wachter. “She’s good with calm dogs, she’s good with kids, and she’s potty trained. She’s gorgeous, and we hope she finds her forever home quickly.”
Wachter said Macy lost her eye in a scuffle with a littermate when she was younger and previously had ear infections, which have since been treated. She weighs 19 pounds and may need to gain a pound or two.
Those interested in adopting Macy can visit the shelter’s website at humanebroward.com to fill out a pre-adoption application. The adoption kennels open at 11 a.m. daily, though the shelter will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The Humane Society of Broward County has many pets waiting for homes this busy holiday season. Wachter said, “This tends to be a very busy weekend for us at the shelter… we hope all the pets find their forever family.”
Macy joins other adoptable pets, including Sinbad, a 9-year-old cat who has gone viral after appearing on live TV. Sinbad’s owner passed away, and he requires daily heart medication.
The shelter encourages anyone thinking about adding a pet to their family this holiday season to act quickly, as many popular animals are adopted quickly.
