MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — It’s time for Formula One or F1, the highest international racing class for open-wheel single-seater cars sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile.

This week, the anticipation for the Miami Grand Prix main event on Sunday at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens prompted a long list of parties.

The summer-like weather forecast was mostly sunny in the mid to upper 80s for most of Sunday, but once the event starts at 4 p.m., it will be in the lower 80s.

On Saturday, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen opened with a win in the sprint race and will lead the field to green on Sunday.

Our local star, Logan Sargeant, of Pompano Beach, qualified in 17th place. The Miami Grand Prix is the first of three F1 races this year in the U.S.
