The event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14, at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, as part of NBA All-Star Saturday, which tips off at 5 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

Johnson, 24, is in his second NBA season after splitting last year between the Heat and their G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

The 6-6 forward will make his Slam Dunk debut alongside Carter Bryant of the San Antonio Spurs, Jaxson Hayes of the Los Angeles Lakers, and Jase Richardson of the Orlando Magic.

The field includes two rookies: Bryant, a 6-6 forward selected 14th overall in the 2025 NBA Draft, and Richardson, a 6-1 guard drafted 25th overall and son of two-time AT&T Slam Dunk champion Jason Richardson (2002 and 2003). Hayes, a 7-foot center, is in his seventh NBA season and third with the Lakers.

The competition features a two-round format.

In the first round, all four players attempt two dunks, with combined scores determining the top two finalists. Each finalist then attempts two additional dunks, and the higher combined score is crowned champion.

All four participants are making their debut in the event, guaranteeing a new Slam Dunk champion this year.
