HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — A.J. Greer is known for making plays on the ice, but this week, the Florida Panthers forward made an impact away from the rink.
Greer visited Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, where he spent time with young patients and their families, signing autographs and playing air hockey and video games in the hospital’s Child Life Zone.
The visit turned an ordinary day at the hospital into a special experience for children undergoing treatment.
For many of the patients, it offered a chance to step away from medical routines and simply enjoy being kids.
The afternoon served as a reminder that some of the most meaningful moments for athletes can happen away from the spotlight — and far from the arena.
