MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane was not a full participant in Wednesday’s organized team activities as he continues rehabbing his shoulder following surgery at the end of last season, head coach Jeff Hafley confirmed.

Hafley said Achane missed the final game of the 2025 season after having what he described as “something in his shoulder that he had to get cleaned up.”

He said Achane is “doing well” in his recovery and expects to take part in individual drills and running but not full team work.

Earlier this month, the Dolphins signed the Pro Bowl running back to a four-year extension worth $17 million per year with $32 million guaranteed.

The shoulder injury is not expected to keep him out long term.

Achane, 24, rushed for 1,350 yards and eight touchdowns on a league-leading 5.7 yards per carry last season while also catching 67 passes for 488 yards and eight touchdowns in 16 games.

Hafley also said offensive tackle Austin Jackson is continuing to work back from a foot injury, adding he is “on his way” to returning as a full-time practice participant.

Hafley said third-round wide rookie receiver Chris Bell, who is recovering from an ACL injury suffered last year with Louisville, is also working off to the side and will participate in limited fashion. He said he is not yet sure of a timetable for a full return.
