MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Miami Dolphins on Wednesday announced the signing of first-round draft pick Kadyn Proctor, a guard/tackle selected with the 12th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The team also agreed to terms with San Diego State cornerback Chris Johnson, the 27th overall pick and Miami’s second first-round selection, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
The exact terms of their deals weren’t immediately released.
Proctor, 21, played three seasons at Alabama, where he started 40 games at left tackle. He helped the Crimson Tide win the SEC championship in 2023 and reach the College Football Playoff in 2023 and 2025.
He is expected to begin the season at left guard next to offensive tackle Patrick Paul.
Proctor was a consensus All-American and first-team All-SEC selection in 2025 after earning SEC All-Freshman Team honors in 2023 and second-team All-SEC recognition in 2024.
Johnson, a 6-foot, 193-pound defensive back, joined the Aztecs in 2022 and made an immediate impact, appearing in 12 games as a freshman before earning a larger role in the seasons that followed. He began to emerge in 2024, recording one interception, 67 tackles and three forced fumbles.
His senior season marked a true breakout.
Johnson, 21, started 11 games and recorded four interceptions, 49 tackles (36 solo), one sack, 13 passes defended, and 1 forced fumble. He also had two interceptions returned for touchdowns.
Johnson is expected to compete for a starting cornerback position.
The signings come one day after the Dolphins announced agreements with 10 members of their 2026 draft class: wide receivers Chris Bell, Kevin Coleman Jr. and Caleb Douglas; guard DJ Campbell; tight end Will Kacmarek; edge rushers Max Llewellyn and Trey Moore; linebackers Kyle Louis and Jacob Rodriguez; and safety Michael Taaffe.
The only remaining unsigned member of Miami’s 2026 draft class is tight end Seydou Traore, of Mississippi State, who was selected 180th overall.
