Miami wide receiver Malachi Toney was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Wide Receiver of the Week after his performance in Miami’s 45-6 win over Stanford, the conference announced Tuesday.

Toney finished Friday’s game with 12 receptions for 234 yards and three touchdowns. His 234 receiving yards set a new Miami program record, breaking the previous record of 220 yards set by Eddie Brown against Boston College in 1984. Toney averaged 19.5 yards per reception.

Toney, 18, recorded 10 catches for 182 yards and two touchdowns during the first half. He scored his third touchdown in the second half and had a longest reception of 48 yards.

Toney’s 234 receiving yards made up more than half of Miami’s 401 passing yards. Quarterback Darian Mensah, who transferred from Duke, threw for five touchdowns in his first game with the Hurricanes. Miami finished the game with 549 total yards.

The game was the first time Toney recorded more than 200 receiving yards in a single game. He also set career highs in receiving yards and touchdown receptions.

No. 7 Miami will host Florida A&M at Hard Rock Stadium on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
