Anderson gives Marlins walk-off win over Padres
MIAMI - Brian Anderson doubled home the winning run with one out in the ninth inning, and the Miami Marlins earned their first walkoff victory of the year by beating the San Diego Padres 4-3 on Thursday. The Marlins were 1 for 13 with runners in scoring position before Anderson came through. The Marlins, who won two of three against San Diego, went 1-10-3 in the series through May 15. San Diego fell to 1-5 since the All-Star break. The Marlins scored two unearned runs in the second.
Earthquake rattles Los Angeles again, shaking Dodger Stadium
LOS ANGELES - The crowd at Dodger Stadium went wild at bottom of the fourth inning. It wasn't the game, the ground started shaking. San Diego Padres pitcher Eric Lauer threw several pitches to the Los Angeles Dodgers' Enrque Hernndez while a 7.1-magnitude earthquake rocked Southern California on Friday night. The shaking was felt more than 250 miles away in Las Vegas, where an NBA Summer League game ended up being postponed. The New Orleans Pelicans and the New York Knicks were playing inside the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas when scoreboards and speakers near the ceiling of the arena shook.
