Alabama in record 5th CFP title game vs 1st champ Ohio State
Ohio State is back for the first time since winning the inaugural title in the CFP era. After the SEC champion Crimson Tide rolled past Notre Dame 31-14 in a Rose Bowl played deep in the heart of Texas, the No. 3 Buckeyes of the Big Ten beat Clemson 49-28 in the other CFP semifinal at the Sugar Bowl on Friday night. The Tigers were trying, like Alabama, to get to the title game for the fifth time in the seven seasons of the four-team playoff. Alabama was the top seed in the first four-team playoff, but Ohio State beat the Tide 42-35 in the semifinal Sugar Bowl.
Heisman Trophy to be awarded Jan. 5; Finalists on Dec. 24
The Heisman Trophy will be presented Jan. 5, but without the usual ceremony held in New York City, and the finalists will be revealed on Christmas Eve. The deadline for Heisman voters to submit their ballots is now Dec. 21, two days after the conference championship games are scheduled to be played. Before college football schedules were revised because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Heisman was set to be handed out Dec. 12. STAT WATCH: FBS record for TD passes among feats by Burrow

The caveat: Gordon threw 160 more passes than Burrow, who averaged 378.1 yards per game. Burrow, the ninth quarterback and 16th player to win the Heisman and national title in the same season, ended the season with 60 TD passes against just six interceptions. Burrow went into the championship game against Clemson on track to set the FBS season completion record. CHOO CHOO CHUBAChuba Hubbard won the national rushing title, and he announced Monday he'll return to Oklahoma State to defend it.
Tim Tebow says he won't speak at Republican National Convention
PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Tim Tebow said he won't be speaking at the Republican National Convention next week. "I wake up this morning to find out that I'm speaking at the Republican National Convention," Tebow said. "So let's come together on that. "Let's forget about our quarrels and our differences and let's come together on one nation under God." Tebow has been out of football since being released by the Philadelphia Eagles before the start of the 2015 season.
Tim Tebow performs 'Eye of the Tiger' in upcoming 'Lip Sync Battle' episode
PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Tim Tebow has won a Heisman Trophy, two national championships and an NFL playoff game in his young career. The former Florida Gators star quarterback will appear in an upcoming episode of Spike's "Lip Sync Battle." A promotional video for the show released Monday features Tebow doing his best Rocky Balboa as he performs to Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger." The song was featured in the 1982 movie "Rocky III" starring Sylvester Stallone, who is an Oscar nominee for best supporting actor in "Creed."
